As I proceeded to read through this article I found how useful second life can be.  This article goes on to describe how SL is being used to conduct job interview now. They are holding career fairs, job interview, meeting with clients, etc…. This is a very useful key for businesses that I would have never suspected. One man said “You don’t have an interviewer staring down at you when you’re answering the questions,” he says. “And it was less stressful because you only had to focus on answering the questions, not whether the interviewer thought your outfit was appropriate.” This is 100% accurate. As you are on your interview thoughts are always running through your mind if you are dressed appropriately, nodding enough,  asking enough questions, food in your teeth. Anything that can distract you or the interviewer from the real point of issue is a problem.  Another positive for the job hunter is that you have opportunities to meet anyone on SL. People that you would never in life have an opportunity to meet because they are too busy for commoners. You may get to talking one day, friends the next, and move on from there till the point where you find yourself in a career you could have only dreamed of. This may be more of a fantasy, but it could happen.

The negative of having interview on SL for the employer is that appearance can be a major part of the job you have to dress the part.   With them not being able to see you at all, may not be exactly what they are expecting when you walk into the office. However, that is something that can always be changed what it important is the personality and work ethic. What someone wears should not determine the work ethic of a person. Because of the way stereotypes play a role in our society, I think that interviews on SL is a great idea. Saves the job hunter from more worry and they can truly focus on what is important.
